A new poll from ABC News shows a seemingly contradictory result. Nearly six in ten support the controversial Arizona law SB1070. That will make the Tea Party crowd happy. This is commendable and also an interesting development because it means that the pro-immigration community is essentially saying that it is necessary to allow one group to receive an important immigration benefit out of lockstep with comprehensive immigration reform. Just a thought that as we have seen that the current president is know for taking quick decisions. Is there anyway we can get his attention to our cause. Does White house have a fx no# ? Send him faxes etc. and send to all presidential candidates too like Clinton, Obama to etc.

I am kind of confused. For UK visitors visa after I fill in the application forms do I need to go to a center to do my biometric. I am opting to submit the forms in person at the chicago center ...is the biometrics thing will be done during the submission at chicago..?

October is usually a month where we see improvements as new visa numbers become available for a new fiscal year. Most categories showed forward movement though few jumps of more than a few months. The exception is the Mexico Family 1st category which jumps a year and a half. EB-3 is available again, but not set at a date particularly close. Most people will not be happy with the dates. Hi,
My company filed for my GC in June'07. They goofed up and filed under EB-3 instead of EB-2. The company apologized and is ready to change my filing to EB-2. I am wondering whether this would be a good step? Following are my details.
- My PD is June07
- Labor is approved (in 1 week)
- I-140 approved
- My 6 yrs on H1 were completed in July09
- I have received 3 yr H1 ext
- Me & Spouse both have received EAD (I am not using my EAD card)
I am not tracking the progress of visa number availablilty, but I presume that EB-2 would anyday be better than EB-3.
Please advise whether chnaging to EB-2 would be a good idea?

I have been in H-1B status for 4+ years. This year, I started attending full time college and had applied for transfer of status from H-1B to F-1. However, my application is still pending with USCIS. Since I need to travel home urgently, I was wondering what steps should I take before leaving so that my status is not affected. Because if I travel abroad, I will be applying for new F-1 at a US consulate, do I need to cancel my application with USCIS here before leaving? Are there any consequences of keeping my application pending here.

Since ur I-485 is approved which means you will get Green card in abt week to 10 days they have denied EAD. So there is nothing to be concerned.

I have H 1B VISA but never went to USA....
1) now if i want to go there... will there be any problem
2) if I want to apply for another VISA work or Tourist... will i get?
You should not have a problem getting a different visa to come to the US to work or visit, assuming you qualify for the new status. It's not unusual for someone to get a visa that they never use.
